4th May 2003 Windsurfing: poole Wind Direction: se, sw, s Wind Stength: 0 - 20 Surf / Sea State: flat Air Temperature: 19 Sea Temperature: warm Weather: sunny Max Speed: Distance Covered: What a frustrating day arrived at beach light offshore wind so topped up on suntan and sat around chatting. Afew people out on big sails and longboard. Decided to go and get some lunch came back to see lots of people rigging the wind and swung round from SE to SSW and there were white caps to be seen out in the channel. Rigged up same as yesterday 7.0 on 283 techno. slogged out to where the wind was. WAS being the right word had one run in an out the harness just being temped by the wind to get planning. Then the wind just died a death, Ive had the wind drop on me before but this was a joke it just seemed to swirl around was lucky to be on a shallow bit a total of 5 of us walked back, glad I wasn't the only one a little less embarassing. Once we was back to shore the wind picked up alittle to offshore then swung back round to SSW ! where it stayed but by this time the water was running out fast. 2 stars not a good sail but was great to be at the coast with the sun shinning even got a bit of a tan to prove it |
